Your First EURES Job (YFEJ) - makes it easier to relocate for work in Europe!

"Your first EURES job" is a European Union job mobility scheme to help young people (18-35 years of age) find work and to help employers find workers in Europe. Your first EURES job is based on support from national employment services – information, job search, recruitment, funding – for both young jobseekers and businesses interested in recruiting from outside their home country.

Are you a JOBSEEKER?

Your first EURES job (yfEj) offers jobseekers support in taking up employment in the EU, Norway or Iceland including:

  • Financial support (allowances for travel to an interview, relocation to another country and recognition of qualifications)
  • Language training Allowance (if required)
  • Induction Programme to include: information on living and working abroad,
  • CV preparation/ Interview skills

You must apply for financial support before you leave your country and before the starting date of your new job. You cannot apply after you have moved to your new country of work.

Are you an EMPLOYER?

SME Employers can apply for financial support when they employ a young person 18-35 years of age from the EU, Norway or Iceland.

Financial support is given for Integration Programmes that include the provision of Induction Training and possibly language training, job introduction or in-house training.

Ireland is currently partnered with two countries for Your First EURES Job, Sweden and France. You can make your application to either Country for Your first EURES Job (see details below)

Employers must submit an application form with a brief description of the proposed integration programme before the young candidate travels to take up employment and the training needs should be identified no later than the interview phase of recruitment.
