Notice for people receiving Constant Attendance Allowance and Guardian’s Payments from the Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection

Guardians Payments & Constant Attendance Allowance – Update

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection wishes to confirm that all customers of Guardians payments and Constant Attendance Allowance who experienced a delay with their payment this morning will receive payment in their accounts this afternoon, Friday, 23rd February.

The Department apologises to these customers for the inconvenience caused.

The Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection advises that people who are receiving a Constant Attendance Allowance and some people receiving a Guardian’s payment did not receive their weekly payment as normal this morning (Friday, 23rd February) which is being investigated at present.

There are 914 people receiving a Guardian’s Payment from the Department who are affected.  Only Guardians payments which are paid into accounts in financial institutions are affected. Guardians payments which are payable at Post Offices are not affected.

There are 108 people receiving the Constant Attendance Allowance. This is an additional payment paid to people receiving a Disablement Pension who have a loss of faculty assessment of 50% or higher as a result of an occupational injury.

The Department apologises to those people whose payments have been affected this morning and advises them if they need financial assistance today, they should contact the Community Welfare Service at their local Intreo Centre.

The Department is working to restoring payments to these customers as quickly as possible and we will keep you updated.
