Jobs Week 2017 takes place with
106 events across the country - 16,000 job seekers expected to attend

Tuesday 26th  September, 2017: Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection Regina Doherty, T.D. has today welcomed the huge response to Jobs Week 2017, which takes place this week. With over 100 events across the country and 16,000 attendees expected, Jobs Week is a major nationwide event for the Department. Jobs Week 2017 continues until Friday 29th September.

This dedicated week of activity provides job seekers and employers the opportunity to network and connect together and to provide information on the services available to jobseekers and employers from the Department’s Intreo service.

As well as advertising job vacancies, the events organised as part of Jobs Week will include 1-2-1 CV clinics, interview preparation workshops, seminars, career coaching and recruitment fairs targeted at specific industries. There are also a number of events around the country dedicated to diversity and offering information and support on employing people with disabilities.

Minister Doherty said: “Jobs Week offers a great opportunity for jobseekers to meet with employers, exchange advice, and especially, find work.  Equally, it provides employers with the opportunity to actively recruit.  This year’s events include Job Fairs, information sessions for job seekers on upskilling opportunities and careers, career advice workshops covering CV preparation and interview techniques. It is an opportunity not to be missed by jobseekers looking for work and by employers who are trying to find the most suitable people for their work.”
