Mary Coughlan Minister for Social and Family Affairs described a meeting with fourteen voluntary organisations yesterday in Leinster House as "constructive and positive".
"I was pleased to welcome the groups in and listen to the submissions they made and their priorities. These will be taken on board as part of the various submissions I have received that will inform the preparation and finalisation of the regulations that will give effect to changes in Social welfare allowance schemes".
"This meeting was also an opportunity to reassure them that the Department of Social and Family Affairs will continue to respond to people’s needs in an appropriate manner, " added Minister Coughlan.
