Tánaiste Joan Burton encourages Jobseekers to attend the Intreo Careers Fair

Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton, T.D. today (Monday, 28th September 2015) encouraged jobseekers to attend the Intreo Careers Fair to meet with the many employers who are looking to fill opportunities across a wide range of jobs. This free-to-attend event takes place in the Printworks, Dublin Castle tomorrow from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

The Tánaiste said: "The Intreo Careers Fair is an employer-led event that highlights vacancies and facilitates jobseekers in attaining expert career advice. Visitors to the event will be able to see for themselves the opportunities available from the 50 organisations and companies’ attending including jobs, educational courses, advice on careers and personal development. There is something for everyone at the Intreo Careers Fair. Exhibitors are seeking to fill vacancies at all levels including entry level, graduate and management positions, while those seeking further training can find out more. The event will include seminars and CV clinics with professionals who will provide advice with interviews and career development."

With opportunities for financial specialists, drivers, sales and retail assistants, IT developers, construction workers, hairdressers and many roles in hospitality, there is something for everyone at the Intreo Careers Fair. Exhibitors include Accenture, Irish Hotels Federation, State Street, Dublin Bus, Peter Mark, the Musgrave Group, Xetec and Allergan.  Intreo Service personnel will be present to give advice and guidance on services and supports for job seekers who are looking to enter the workplace. Attendees will also be able to avail of one-to-one coaching from HR experts as well as attending seminars to support their job seeking activities. The seminars running throughout the day cover topics ranging from ‘Job Search Techniques (Social Media)’ and ‘Improve Your Job Seeking Skills’ to ‘Careers in Transport and the Recruitment Process’ and ‘Starting up a Business’

The Intreo Careers Fair is one of over 160 events taking place during the Department’s annual National Jobs Week, which takes place across the country from the 28th September to 2nd October. Full details about Jobs Week, including the Calendar of Events during the week are available at:
