Supplementary Welfare Allowance

If you do not have enough PRSI contributions for Illness Benefit and your income is too low to meet your needs, you may qualify for Supplementary Welfare Allowance.

Disability Allowance

You may get this payment if you have a disability that is expected to last for at least one year, you are aged between 16 to pensionable age (currently 66), you satisfy a means test and are habitually resident in the State.

Invalidity Pension

You may get this if you are ill and unfit for work, are likely to be permanently incapable of work, satisfy the PRSI conditions, and are under pensionable age (currently 66) .
