Jobseeker’s Allowance & Supplementary Welfare Allowance – New Measures 2014

Currently, all Jobseeker's Allowance and Supplementary Welfare Allowance recipients, regardless of age, who have children continue to receive a personal rate of €188 per week and an increase for a qualified adult, if applicable, of €124.80 plus qualified child increases.  There are no changes to those arrangements.

The maximum personal rates of payment are outlined below including the maximum rates for people aged under 26 years who do not have children.  The reduced rate of Jobseeker's Allowance will apply to people aged 25 years and under who have exhausted their entitlement to Jobseeker's Benefit with effect from January 2014.

* Recipients who are age 25 years prior to January 2014 will continue to receive a rate of €188.
