You may also receive Treatment Benefit for treatment carried out in other European Union (EU) member states. To qualify for Treatment Benefit you must satisfy the Pay Related Social Insurance conditions.
Dental Benefit covers the cost of a dental examination.
Optical Benefit covers the cost of an eyesight test.
From 01/01/2012, the Department pays up to half the cost of a hearing aid or repairs to a hearing aid subject to a fixed maximum of €500.00 for one hearing aid and €1,000.00 for 2 hearing aids.
