A Bereavement Grant is paid:

• on the death of a person who satisfies the social insurance contributions conditions or on the death of their spouse, civil partner, cohabitant or qualified dependants,

1. or

• on the death of a person who has been getting a Contributory Pension or on the death of their spouse, civil partner, cohabitant or qualified dependants,

1. or

• on the death of a person who has been getting Guardian's Payment (Contributory) or on the death of their guardian.
