We will not backdate payment of Illness or Occupational Injury Benefits beyond six months if you failed to claim on time because of:
- Lack of knowledge about your entitlements
- Lack of knowledge by someone acting for you
- Lack of knowledge by third parties
- an agency other than the Department of Social and Family Affairs gave you incorrect information or advice or
- an individual or agency other than the Department of Social and Family Affairs failed to act.
