Illness Benefit payments delayed by one day

Due to industrial action by members of the Civil and Public Services Union (CPSU) on Thursday 26 February 2009, some Illness Benefit and Occupational Injury Benefit payments will be issued one day later than normal.
This means that approximately 4.500 customers, who would normally get their Illness Benefit or Occupational Injury Benefit payment on Monday 2nd March 2009, will not receive their payment until the next day, Tuesday 3rd March. In any given week, some 74,000 people receive Illness Benefit or Occupational Injury Benefit payments.
A small number of jobseekers who are getting paid by cheque may also experience a delay in receiving their weekly payment.
